Parking
At St. John's International Airport Authority, we believe that every experience you have at our airport should be a good one – and that includes parking. Whether you’re catching a flight for a short business trip, taking a family vacation or coming to the airport for a drop-off/pick-up, there are parking options to meet every need.
Three secure parking lots, offering approximately 850 spaces, (Short-Term, Long-Term and Gold Pass Parking) are conveniently located adjacent to the Airport Terminal Building.
NEW: Self Pay Option Available for Short- and Long-Term Parking
The St. John's International Airport Authority recently invested in new parking lot equipment to give you more options to pay for your parking, with the aim of expediting the park & pay process.
Pay in the Airport Terminal Building
Pay at one of two self-pay machines in the Airport Terminal Building - one outside the entrance to the Arrivals/ Baggage Area and another outside the right-side entrance to Destinations restaurant (next to airline check-in counters). Pay by cash or credit card but don't forget to bring your parking ticket stub with you!
Note: You have 20 minutes from the time you pay for your parking until the time you exit the parking lot. Charges will apply at the gate beyond this time.
Pay Outside at the Exit Gates
Three exit gates for your convenience:
Automated Lane (left lane)
- Accepts prepaid, cash, and credit cards.
Cashier Lane (middle lane)
- Staffed booth. Accepts prepaid, cash, debit, and credit cards (note: only lane to accept debit).
Express Lane (right lane)
- Accepts prepaid and credit cards.

Can’t Decide Where to Park?
Short-Term Parking: Designed for the quick “in and out” of the terminal in 2 hours or less.
Long-Term Parking: Gone for a day, a week, or a month? Long-term parking is the solution for you. Parking is intended for more than two hours with no reservations required or restrictions on your length of stay.
Exiting Short-term & Long-term Parking
There are two separate entrances to the short-term and long-term parking lots (shown on map), however, all cars must move through the long-term parking lot to exit terminal parking at one of three gates.
*NOTE: If you accidentally enter the short-term parking lot, it’s important that you exit right away and drive back around the terminal building to pick up a ticket for long-term parking where lower rates apply.
Gold Pass Parking: The ultimate time-saver convenience for the frequent flyer. Located adjacent to the check-in area of the terminal building, access to this lot is granted with a swipe card.
Driving and Dropping Off
Stopping at the curb in front of the terminal building is strictly for the drive, quick drop-off and dash. Space is limited and vehicles left unattended may be ticketed or towed.
Reasonable Rates
Parking rates are competitively priced compared to other airports and fees charged downtown St. John’s. As listed above, we accept prepaid, cash, debit cards and major credit cards as you exit the parking lot. Two prepaid parking machines are located in the Airport Terminal Building for your convenience.
