From grass cutters to the new Oshkosh HB Series combination snowplow/snowblower and MB runway sweeper unit, Airfield Maintenance Services operate over 75 pieces of equipment to ensure that our airport remains open for business. These are the unsung heros who keep the runways up and running. During winter operations Airfield Maintenance keep our runways, ramps, taxiways, roads, sidewalks and parking areas free of snow and ice. During the summer the tarmac is kept free of debris using large mechanical sweepers. All year round they are responsible for security fence maintenance, ground and asphalt maintenance and repair, runway line painting and bird and wildlife control. Airfield maintenance is backed by a team of Heavy Equipment Mechanics that ensure that all airport equipment and vehicles remain operational. Long hours, adverse weather conditions and tight deadlines - for Airfield Maintenance, it’s all in a days work.
